The summer is short.Ducati's and a 55'Chevy

 One of the few sunny days this season we took a little trip to visit the local Ducati dealer.

On the way home we meet this guy and his good looking 55' Chevy. This is his daily drive while restoring a 55' Handyman.

Choppers in Afghanistan

My friend Stein was a couple of periods in Afghanistan some time ago. It was very boring just staying innside the fenced area (he was there as a chopper mechanic on big choppers). But as creative as he is they built this little chopper for fun.
Even the Norwegian defence minister at the time was having a picture taken of her beside this little one.

Panhead Tracker,Racer.....

My friend Peer from the Kongsberg, the silver city of Norway sold his old knucklehead and updated him with this panhead. He told me the old owner did some racing in the sixties and seventies before he made it a street legal bike. It is a 48' with new STD heads, some high comp pistons and fresh cam it is as he says "a crispy ride".
Put some good forks, wheels and another tank it doesn't look like a saggy old p'head longer.

Here the other day my friend J.R and me took a little trip to Sweden for some autumn vacation.
First stop was at the best machine shop for motorcycle parts in Sweden,Stigs Motor Mekaniska. He is doing all kind of machine work like grinding and balancing crankshafts, rebore, making camshafts etc.
it was amasing and so clean and tidy.
In the evening we arrived at the MC Collection museum in Sollentuna, and outskirt of Stockholm.
Where mr.Stellan Egeland builder of the "Hulster" who he became world champion in custom bike building over in Sturgis in 2007. It is basically home built with the engine bottom from a knucklehead and home made cylinder heads inspired from Rudge four valve.
He was talking with two of the legends in Swedish motor cycle stratosphere...the great Nisse Hedlund motor builder and Sten "Storken" Lundin a former moto cross champion.
They was talking both about the Hulster and some great stories from the lod days. It was one of the the best evenings i had in a long time.
On Saturday Jan Roar was contributing in a classic enduro race called "Västmanland Rundt".
Many fine bikes there, and the start and finish was beside the "Surahammar Motorcycle Museum".
Some fine and sunny September days.     

The Mystery Panhead.

I run into this Panhead when i was in Stockholm a couple years ago. If you take a look at all the details, you can see that the owner is thinking "way out of the box". Forks and brakes from a mx bike,fuel injection, oil tank with filters and so on. He was complaining on the soft tail frame, that was shit. Some will say ugly and  some will say interesting. We was camping next to the bike and it was funny to watch people going by. Most just walked by, but sometimes they went three steps ahead and then suddenly stopped and went back and beginning to study the bike.
The owner was super nice and we had a good conversation.
